Different Energy Sources

Different energy sources refers to different ways we capture and utilize energy. They include renewable and non-renewable sources of energy. The kind of energy we choose is determined by many factors, including how it impacts the environment and whether it’s affordable and available.

In 2018 fossil fuels (oil natural gas, natural gas and coal) comprised 81 percent of all the energy used in the world. These non-renewable energy sources can harm the environment in many ways. For example oil drilling could be devastating to wildlife and communities. Fracking contributes to pollution of water. Coal power plants emit CO2.

Renewable energy, also called green energy or clean energy is derived from natural and constantly replenishing resources such as sunlight, wind, and water. It’s a great option for reducing our dependence on fossil fuels and also helping the planet.

However, renewable energy isn’t just about preserving the environment; it’s also about being reliable, efficient, and cost-effective. Renewable energy is becoming more popular as a method to power our homes and businesses.

The most popular renewable energy sources are solar, wind hydropower, nuclear. Solar energy is a method that converts sunlight into warmth and electricity. Wind energy captures the kinetic energy of moving air to create electricity. It is utilized in a variety of locations all over the world. Hydropower harnesses the power of fast-moving water to produce electricity. Nuclear energy utilizes the process of nuclear fission to produce electricity.
